About Stancor Bright Bars
Stancor Bright Bars supplies cold finished steel bars — cold drawn, smooth turned, peeled and centreless ground — in free cutting, carbon, alloy, case hardening, bearing and stainless grades, held to ISO h8 to h11 tolerance and shipped with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates.
Straight. Round. To Size.
A bright bar earns its price in one place — the first cut. Diameter inside its tolerance class, straightness at 0.5 mm/m, and a scale-free surface, so the component comes off the machine finished instead of needing a roughing pass.
Built to Run Unattended.
Resulphurised so the chip breaks at the tool tip instead of nesting round the part, and leaded where the cycle has to be faster again. The grades that let a bar-fed lathe run a night shift without an operator.
Hard Where It Wears.
EN19 and EN24 harden through sections that defeat carbon steel. 20MnCr5, 16MnCr5 and EN353 carburise to a 58-62 HRC case over a core that still absorbs shock. EN31 reaches 62-64 HRC with the carbide structure a bearing needs.
